Breadfruit curry / Kadachakka curry

 Ingredients

  • Breadfruit chopped - 1 cup
  • Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  • Chilly powder - 2 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Shallots - 5
  • Tamarind seed less - very small piece
  •  Mustard seeds - 1tsp
  • Dry red chilly - 2
  • Curry leaves
  • Oil
  • Salt to taste

 Method of Preparation

  • Heat oil in a pan add grated coconut & fry it.When it turns to brown,add coriander powder,Red chilly powder,garam masala and fry till it turns dark brown.keep it cool
  • Grind the fried items with tamarind to make smooth paste.
  • Cook Breadfruit with turmeric and salt in a pan or pressure cooker.
  • When it cooked well add Grinded paste into it mix well,add salt if necessary and cook for few min.
  •  Stop the flame.heat oil in a pan splutter mustard seeds,add dry red chilly,curry leaves and saute for few sec.
  •  Add the seasoning in the curry & close the lid.
  •  Breadfruit curry is ready to serve.
