DOSA - Urad dal

URAD DAL DOSA

Ingredients

  • Rice - 2 Cups
  • Urad Dal - 1 Cup
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1tsp
  • Cooked Rice - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - 1 tbsp

Preparation

  • Wash & soak the rice & urad dal  along with  fenugreek seeds for about 6 hrs.
  • Grind the soaked items along with cooked rice to form thick, smooth batter.
  • Keep the batter in warm place for atleast 9 hrs or overnight.
  • Add salt into it & mix well.
  •  Heat a nonstick pan& add a ladleful of batter.
  •  spread the batter to form a circular shape.
  •  when one side is cooked turn over the dosa and cook
  • Serve  the Dosa with Sambar& chutney.

 

  • Notes
    • Use the soaked water to grind the rice & urad dal.
    • Use of cooked rice makes the Dosa too soft & delicious
    • fenugreek seeds gives a special taste  to Dosa.
