Ingredients
- Basmati Rice - 2 cups
- Onion - 1 thinly sliced
- Cinnamon - 2
- Cloves - 4
- Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
- Cardamom - 2
- Bay leaves - 2
- Black pepper corns - 7
- Ghee - 3 tbsp
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- water - 3 cups.
For Garnishing
- Fried Onions
- Fried Raisins & Cashewnuts
- corriander leaves
Method of preparation
- Wash and soak the rice for about 30 min.Drain the rice and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add 2 tbsp of Ghee into it.
- Add onion & saute until it starts turning pink.
- Then add all spices and saute for 1 min.
- Now add the drained rice , saute it in ghee for 5 min.
- Mean while, Boil the water and add the hot water into the rice.
- Next add Salt to taste , 1 tbsp ghee & boil on high heat.
- When water starts bubbling ,reduce the flame & continue cooking till done.
- Garnish with fried onions, cashewnuts, raisins & corriander leaves.
