GHEE RICE

 Ingredients

  •   Basmati Rice - 2 cups
  •   Onion - 1 thinly sliced
  •   Cinnamon - 2
  •   Cloves - 4
  •   Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  •   Cardamom - 2
  •   Bay leaves - 2
  •   Black pepper corns - 7
  •   Ghee -  3 tbsp
  •   Oil - 1 tbsp
  •   Salt to taste
  •   water - 3 cups.

  For Garnishing

  •  Fried Onions
  •  Fried Raisins & Cashewnuts
  •  corriander leaves

  Method of preparation

  •  Wash and soak the rice for about 30 min.Drain the rice and keep aside.
  •  Heat oil in a pan and add 2 tbsp of Ghee into it.
  •  Add onion & saute until it starts turning pink.
  •  Then add all spices and saute for 1 min.
  •   Now add the drained rice , saute it in ghee for 5 min.
  •   Mean while, Boil the water and add the hot water into the rice.
  •  Next add Salt to taste , 1 tbsp ghee & boil on high heat.
  •  When water starts bubbling ,reduce the flame & continue cooking till done.
  • Garnish with fried onions, cashewnuts, raisins & corriander leaves.
