urad dal Vada/Uzhunnu vada

Ingredients

  • Urad dal - 1 cup
  • Rice flour -2tbsp
  • Green chilly - 4 thinly chopped
  • Ginger - 1 inch thinly sliced
  • Onion - 1 chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - as required for frying

Method of preparation

  • Wash and soak urad dal for 2 -3 hours.
  • Drain the water & grind the urad dal witout water.
  • Add rice flour and all chopped ingredients in it & mix well.
  • Heat oil in a pan,dip your fingers in water and take batter of the size of a small ball &patt with your palm to make a circle.
  • Dip index finger in water and make a hole at the center of the pattered batter and carefully drop it into the hot oil.
  • Deep fry it on medium high flame till it become golden.
  • Serve the vada with coconut chutney/sambar.
